Despite embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal direct passage to the knockout stages, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Moment
This match provided a platform for some of Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in match.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple tap-in.
Youngster Adam Wharton went close minutes later, fizzing a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the referee waved away the appeals.
Ex-Arsenal man didn't need to wait long to find his goal, prodding home from a yard out after Uche's effort had hit the post.
The home side were clinging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
